Christmas Night

I think that christmas night is the most depressing time of year. after all the months and months of preperation, you get some cool stuff, hang out with your friends and family and than, it all just ends. Conversely I also think it is the best time of year for reflection. reflection on what you should value and what you really do value.
it also feels very quiet. everyone is exhausted from there month of preperation and bulid-up and now its over.
i like to think of each year as a story or a song, starting in january is the opening, the big HERE I AM i'm your new year. Than through the whole year is build-up thanksgiving is the pre-finale and Christmas is the glorious finale. but then we enter a small phase i like to call "the epilogue".
this week between christmas and new years where everything seems to just kind of stop.
Than it all starts over again.
well thats my thought of the week.
merry christmas everybody
remember what you live for.

irish music

so today, i was just doing normal everyday jasonish things when all of the sudden i started singing danny boy, i think it was at this point that i realized i didn't know the lyrics so i got on my ever trusty computer and got them.
man that is one pretty song but i think the auther had serious depression isues. i mean check this out:

Oh Danny boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling
From glen to glen, and down the mountain side
The summer's gone, and all the flowers are dying
'Tis you, 'tis you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer's in the meadow
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow
'Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny boy, oh Danny boy, I love you so.
And if you come, when all the flowers are dying
And I am dead, as dead I well may be
You'll come and find the place where I am lying
And kneel and say an "Ave" there for me.
And I shall hear, tho' soft you tread above me
And all my dreams will warm and sweeter be
If you'll not fail to tell me that you love me
I'll simply sleep in peace until you come to me.

i almost started crying when i sang it.
so i decided to try and find more irish ballads that i new the tune of. So i got back on this irish song site and found "The minstrel boy"

The Minstrel Boy to the war is gone
In the ranks of death you will find him
His father's sword he hath girded on
And his wild harp slung behind him
Land of Song! said the warrior bard
Tho' all the world betrays thee
One sword, at least, they rights shall guard
One faithful harp shall praise thee!
The Minstrel fell! But the foeman's chain
Could not bring that proud soul under
The harp he lov'd ne'er spoke again
For he tore its chords asunder
And said "No chains shall sully thee
Thou soul of love and brav'ry!
Thy songs were made for the pure and free,
They shall never sound in slavery!

i think i did shed a tear when i sang this one, ah so pretty.
anyway now that we've established my sappiness, i don't thnk i'll say anymore.

Some thoughts on christmas

Well, it really is that time of year again. I think i'll just stay in a closet for a few weeks. Don't get me wrong christmas is great, I love christmas. But there is one tiny little thing that bothers me around this time.
Christmas has become a religion in itself. I mean think about it. there's a christmas god(santa) many, many christmas rituals, songs that worship christmas and all the other icons and fantasies the despots and tyrants of our society have used to pollute and desacralize this holiday which should never have gotten bigger than the savior it celebrates.
Now, why should we(christians) celebrate christmas over any other holiday? Why should we give gifts and send cards to our family and friends on christmas and not easter? Why should we prepare a month in advance for chritmas and never give passover a second thought? Is it greed? Is it santa? was it Constantine? BY WHOSE AUTHORITY DO WE CELEBRATE A HOLIDAY IN HONOUR OF GETTING PRESENTS?
The solution to this dilemma? All men need christ! how is Christ the answer to over-celebrating a christian holiday? When people truly come to Christ nothing will be more important to them than there Lord.
to God be the glory for ever and ever amen

A wandering spirit caring for a multitude of just concerns, you are an instrumental power in many of the causes around you.

And so am I, very dangerous: more dangerous than anything you will ever meet, unless you are brought alive before the seat of the Dark Lord.

# 2

well, today was filled with fun and excitement. wanna hear what i did? do ya? DO YA?
i'll tell you what i did.
i sat on the couch and read a book all morning.
and than my female parental unit forced me to clean the bathroom(actually there was very little forcing involved, she just told me to) and that was all.....i'm practically drowning in loads and loads of christmas(sorry, HOLIDAY) break excitement.
ok really i like peace and quiet... really..i'm not lying
anyway todays phrase, i was gonna try to make a limerick but i didn't know what a limerick was so i looked it up in the dictionary and than i found out it was complicated, here's the definition:

lim-er-ick n. a kind of humorous poem in which lines one, two and five rhyme, and line three and four form a rhyme couplet.

it's also a city in ireland.
now that you are all enlightened as to what a limerick actually is, know that i have no idea what a couplet is or for that matter how to make lines three and four form one, now if that is something that makes me unworthy to write in my mother tongue than shoot me....okay maybe i went on a little long about the limericks, my apologies.
and now the actual phrase of the day:
when life throws you oranges make pears.
Jason Wiseman
hey, no one said it had to make sense
